Good morning, New Women. I love the context for today's Ember. Boaz wakes up on the threshing floor at midnight to find a woman lying at his feet. the word "startled" begs the question, "Ya think?" Boaz -- hung over and "startled" says, "Who are you?" The answer is in --
TODAY'S EMBER: "Do not be afraid, I will do for you all that you ask, for all the assembly of my people know that you are a worthy woman." (Italics mine) Ruth 3:11
TO PONDER: You are probably no stranger to that question when you look in the mirror: "Who are you?" Isn't it puzzling that we can live in our own skins and listen to the messages of our own brains for so many years (you're in your second decade, for Pete's sake) and not know who we really are? What answer can you give yourself today? What answer do you want to be true of you? What's true just because you're God's daughter? Who are you, for real?
FAN IT TO FLAME: Make this your "mantra" today: I am a worthy woman. Every time you start to doubt yourself, beat yourself up, put yourself down -- like every ten minutes! -- say it to yourself: In God's eyes, I am a worthy woman. Believing it will influence your actions. A part of the assembly of your people, I know that.
Thank you for being who you are here on the blog.
