Good morning, Mini-Women! Some of you have already commented about what you want to do when you invite yourself over. One of the things you've come up with that I LOVE is sending yourself a written invitation. I like that because once something is put in writing, it's a whole lot harder to say, "Y'know, I don't really feel like doing that now." And if you RSVP to an invite, saying you'll be there, it would be rude to change your mind at the last minute.
So, you've inspired me. I wrote myself an invitation to tea and reading. I love to read, and I don't have (or make!) as much time for simply getting into a book for pleasure as I want to. So I'm inviting myself in for two uninterrupted hours of reading. There will be tea. Chocolate. The most comfy chair in the house. Music (probably classical, which is great to read by -- no words interfering with the ones on the page) No iPhone. Just two heavenly hours with a well-written story. I've chosen Dancing in Cadillac Light, a tween novel by Kimberly Willis Holt. I'll let you know how it is!
Your next step then, after you decide what you really want to do when you invite yourself over, is to make/write a formal invitation. Take a pic of it if you want and send it to me as a jpg file attached to an email. If you do it on the computer as a Word document, it will be really easy to attach it to an email to me. It would be fun for me to post a bunch of them.
Enjoy, my friends! Get your plan in so you can begin to make preparations. Comment away! I'll be back with you Tuesday.
