Good morning, Mini-Women! I have met a few of you in person and have seen pictures of many of you. But most of what I know about your beauty comes to me through your comments and emails. It's how I know that each of you is a gorgeous human being.

I'm talking, of course, about your inner beauty, which is something I'll be spending a lot of time on in the new version of the Skin You're In book.

I'm going to go deeper than just saying, "Who you are on the inside is far more imporant than the way you look on the outside," and I'm going to need your help with that.

Would you please give me your HONEST answers to any or all of these questions, either in a comment here on in an email to me (nnrue@att.net)?

Do you think the way you look doesn't matter at all?

Who is the most beautiful girl you have ever seen? Why was she so beautiful?

How can you tell someone is beautiful on the inside?

Do you know anybody that would be considered not very attractive, but you think she's great?

What quality in yourself makes you feel beautiful?

What is a compliment about your personality that you often get from other people?

If inner beauty is what's important, is it okay to want to look your best in other ways, too?

Do you have any questions about the whole "inner beauty" thing?

You are amazing. Have I told you that lately? I'm giving a free Skin You're In book to everyone who has helped, but that doesn't come close to what you deserve, just by being the you God made you to be.

Are These Bad?

Good morning, Mini-Women!

I am LOVING the help you've been giving for the new Skin You're In book. Your comments and emails are going to make it SO much easier for your fellow tweens who read the book.

Today's topic:

What about . . . .?

tattoos?

piercings?

hair in colors that don't appear in nature?

hair styles that, shall we say, stand out in the crowd?

I'm leaving this one open. Will you share whatever thoughts you have about those things-kids-fight-with-their-parents-about?

You can say what you think, tell us about an experience you've had, or share some wisdom someone else has given you. You can also ask questions.

Just remember that if someone says something you don't agree with and you want to resond, do it WITH respect and WITHOUT preaching.

I know you can handle this. You are, after all, very wise mini-women.

Beauty Bummers

Good morning, Mini-Women!

I know that each and every one of you is a beauty. You've proven that over and over here on the blog. But it can be hard to believe that about yourself when the entire rest of the world says there is only one way to BE beautiful, and you will only find that on 2% of the women on earth. There is so much wrong with that it's going to take me a whole chapter of the new SKin You're In book to untangle it. 

That's why I need your help. If you would like to assist with this chapter, will you answer any or all of these questions that apply to you, either in a comment here or in a private email to me (nnrue@att.net)? If you'll be as honest as you can be, that'll help a whole LOT of other mini-women like you who may be struggling with "beauty bummers."

Is there anything about your appearance that really, really bugs you?

Are you ever teased about your appearance in any way? If so, how do you handle that?

Are there things about the way you look that you think, "If that was gone, I would be way prettier."

Do you have any questions about appearance issues that don't seem "normal" to you?

Do you have any advice on how to deal with the above?

What's Your Style?

Good morning, Mini-Women! Is it just me, or is that an . . . "interesting" outfit my granddaughter has on? I'm not thinking she has much of a sense of style yet.

But that may be something YOU are starting to think about, which is why I need your help with that chapter of the new Skin You're In book. You up for it?

Hands n' Feet

Good mornning, Mini-Women!

You probably don't remember when you basically used your hands to stick stuff into your mouth, or when you didn't use your feet for walking. But now those hands and feet may be a thing you think about. 

They're going to take up a whole chapter in the new Skin You're In book (which you can read about in last Monday's blog) so I'm going to need your help.

SHAVING

"What?" you say?

If you're a younger tween, like 8 or 9 or 10, it probably hasnt occured to you to get rid of the hair on your legs or pits.

But if you're a little older and that hair situation has started to come to your attention (or somebody ELSE has brought it to your attention), the issue of shaving (or not shaving) has probably crossed your mind.

Loving Your 'Do!

Good morning, Mini-Women!  It had to be easier when you had no hair at all, right? You could even go to the beach and not have to worry about your 'do.

THE SKIN YOU'RE IN

Good morning, Mini-Women! Ready to help some more with the new FaithGirlz beauty book? (If you don't know what this is about, read yesterday's post).

I need your input today about SKIN. I know, it didn't used to be a thing you gave any thought to, right? You were born with totally pure little cheeks (just like Baby Maeryn was) and until a certain point in your life it's like breathing -- it's just there.

And then suddenly it's an issue.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Good morning, mini-women! I know I've thanked you about thirty times for your help with the new Girl Politics book, but I'm going to say it one more time because it is DONE and because of YOU it is a way, way better book than the first one. I can't wait for you to read it when it comes out later this year. And remember that each one of you who shared a comment or an email will receive a FREE copy! If you're like sweet Baby Maeryn, you love you some books.

I promised you that we would talk more about bullying here on the blog, and we WILL. But I'm going on a five-day trip  (purely for fun for a change!) and won't be able to do that until I get back, starting Feb. 27.  HOWEVER, this week there will still be new posts for you because guess what?

I NEED HELP WITH THE NEXT BOOK!

I'm rewriting The SKin You're In  (before that known as Beauty Lab) and of COURSE I would love to have your stories and questions and quotes to help ALL the mini-women out there who are struggling with whether they're pretty and whether it's important and how to be as beautiful as they can be and which part of that comes from inside (big breath).

So -- do you want to help?

I thinking I'm hearing a deafening YES.

This is one time I don't mind if you fill up my inbox (as long as you stay on topic, of course!) It's okay to comment on each other's comments as long as you stick to the "Rules." Miss Crystal will be around to help you if you go astray by mistake. She's great that way.

Do you worry about the way you look?

What exactly do you worry about?

If you don't think much about appearance, why is that? 

Please, please be honest. We all know what the answer is SUPPOSED to be, but if that isn't the way you really feel, it doesn't help anyone for you to say what you think the "right" answer is. It's important for the mini-women who read this book to know that they aren't alone in the way they feel.

CALLING ALL "INNOCENT" BYSTANDERS!!

Hey, Mini-Women!

You have been GREAT helping me with the Girl Politics Book and I SO appreciate it.

I just have one place where I still need a true story from someone. That's the part about seeing bullying going on but not doing anything to stop it.

It will really, really help other mini-women like yourself who want to do something and can't.

SO if you have a story, please share it with me either here in a comment of by email nnrue@att.net by tomorrow mornning if you can.
