Animal Update: Today Guinness managed to get the cat food dish off of the counter and scattered kitty kibbles everywhere. When I scolded him, he looked at me like, "What? What did I do?"
Baby Maeryn News Flash: Yesterday she took her first steps. She still prefers crawling, but once she gets the hang of it . . .well, I'm going to need new running shoes.
Book Stuff: Only 14 MORE DAYS until Here's Lily and The Body Book will be available for purchase. They are ALMOST just like the old ones with some updates and new information. Not to mention the fact that the new covers are FABULOUS!
Lots going on. And I'm starting on a revision of Body TALK, which some of you have read. It's REALLY going to be different, and just as I did with Girl Politics and The Skin You're In, I'm going to need your help ( I know I said we were going to do Everybody Tells Me To Be Myself next but that's been changed.)
So what do you say, are you up for it? As always, I'll give you some background and then some questions to answer. You can either respond in a comment right here on the blog or you can email me privately at email@example.com. I won't use any names and will tweak anything I need to so that you won't be recognized.
AND of course everyone who provides me with a response will receive a free copy of the book when it's released. We're keeping track here, and it looks like some of you are going to end up with all four books!
All right, here we go -- first set of questions. These are under the heading: WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY BODY?!
1. What's the most confusing thing about the changes that are happening with your body right now?
2. What are you noticing that you didn't expect?
3. Does anything about it scare you?
4. Who do you talk to about all this stuff?
We're talking about some pretty personal things, so even though this is a safe place and we stick to our guidelines about responding to other people's comments, some of you may rather email me privately and that's fine (firstname.lastname@example.org). However I think you enjoy reading what each other has to say, so if you want to post something fun, tell us:
(a) a piece of ridiculous body-related information you were told was true and have found out that it wasn't (like frogs cause warts or the dentist can tell when you're on your period) OR
(b) the BEST thing about your body changing (like you suddenly have a waistline or you're liking it or your dad doesn't call you his little stinkpot anymore!
Remember that you're going to help your fellow mini-women A LOT by doing this. Andd you will definitely be helping me!
