Hello,
Mini-Women! You know how sometimes you want to ask a question or talk about a
topic besides the one we’re discussing? Or you need to find out a piece of info
– like when the next blog party is – and you have to search through all the old
posts to find it? We’ve found a way to solve that!
We’re starting something called a Google Group, which is a private community that only those who subscribe to Tween You and Me can join. On it, we’ll announce my events, new books, and opportunities for you to help out with your own blogs. You’ll be able to make prayer requests, ask questions, and suggest new topics for the blog.
There will of course be guidelines so that everyone treats everyone else with respect, just like we do here on the blog.
Here’s what you’ll need to do to join the Google Group:
- Get your parents’ permission. They can check out Google Groups here first so they’ll know what it’s about. Then they will need to send me an email (nnrue{at}att{dot}net) with just (YOUR NAME) HAS GOOGLE PERMISSION in the subject line. They don’t even have to write me a note. If you join without that, we’ll block you until we hear from Mom or Dad
- Create a Google profile or if your parents prefer you use theirs that works too. You will then have the option to select a screen name just to use for the group. (Simply go to “My Membership” to adjust your settings on how people can view you and your information). It is very important that we’re we are able to see these names (we being, Leah, Miss Crystal, and myself) and that the name match what you use on the blog so we can keep track of who is who. If for any reason we are skeptical of someone they will be questioned and blocked if necessary. You know that’s for your safety, right?
- Ready? Go here and get started
PARENTS FYI: Currently we are restricting members to join with the link. Only Admin managers of the group can send an invitation to someone. Admin managers are the only ones who can approve adding someone to the group.
If you have any questions before you go any further, of course post them here and Leah will answer them for you (remember – she’s my virtual assistant). I think this is going to add a lot to our community – and to you!
Blessings,
Nancy Rue

Hi Nancy,
I'm a mum here and just wondered about whether we can sign our girls up to this if they are under 13 yrs old?? I thought Google groups / profiles were for only 13 and ups?
Thanks ...

Hi Mum, Leah here (Nancy's VA). I did some research and could not find any age restriction under their terms of use. The terms of use is for any Google product so it does cover a rather large spectrum. That is why we suggested your daughter using your profile (which the name on the group can be adjusted to theirs) so you are able to see activity as necessary. This becomes a parental call, but the reason why we chose Google Groups. I hope that helps.

Here it says you have to be 13+ in the USA to have an account ... is this not the same thing?? or are you talking about something different??
Thanks for the help.
