Hello, Mini-Women! Do you realize that you are ALL winners! Just the fact that so many of you responded to the contest in last week's post proves that. You really do understand how God's voice changes things -- and that makes you God In Action Agents for sure.
JESUS FREAK, ANNARCHEL, CASEY, NIKITA, and AMELIA were the first to get their here's-how-this-verse-helped-me comments posted, so each of you five mini-women will receive an audio version of Here's Lily. PLEASE EMAIL ME TO TELL ME WHETHER YOU WANTS CD OR MP3 AND WE'LL DISCUSS WHETHER I HAVE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS.
Although JOSIE, JUJUBEAR, JENNA, KAT, MENE, EMMA, and ABIGAIL weren't among the first five, you did post so I'm offering each of you a copy of the book version (new, updated) of Lily Robbins, M,D. Please email me so I can make sure I have your email address
If there is anyone who didn't post because you saw five people had beaten you to it, please email me and I'll get you a LIly RObbins M.D. too.
THAT EMAIL ADDRESS IS NNRUE@ATT.NET
Now, on to prayer for some people who aren't feeling like winners right now. Please pray for:
MARY-BRETT's two friends whose houses both burned down in unrelated fires
ABIGAIL and CASEY who aren't feeling well and have SO much going on they don't want to miss.
KAT, whose life is incredibly hectic right now (as in, I'm tired just reading about it!)
JENNA's friend Emma who is going through a tough family time.
JUJUGBEAR who needs to raise money to go on a mission trip to Mexico.
Merciful God, please hear the prayers of your Mini-Women.
We have some things to praise our God for, too:
Our MENE is up and "a'doing" after her surgery!
KAT gets to keep her dog!
NIKITA got baptized yesterday!!!!
Thanks be to God!!!
HOW YOU RESPONDED TO THE LAST POST (besides winning free stuff!)
JENNA is encouraged that there are other girls struggling with the same things she is -- like getting sick during the school year, and being way too busy,
AMELIA was having a super stressful day and found out God was right there. As usual.
ANNARACHEL had the same experience when she was going through that rough time with her friend.
And MENE when she was going through her surgery.
ABIGAIL just thinks these assignments rock! By the way, Abigail, we'll have 3 more and then OUR BLOG PARTY ON FEBRUARY 8 !!!!!!! (More on that in our next post)
While we're looking ahead, during Lent (which we'll start focusing on February 11) I'm going to be referring to the book THAT IS SO ME. If you don't have a copy, please email me at nnrue@att.net and I will send you a free one. Don't wait too long or I won't be able to get it to you in time.
Now, on to today's assignment. Ready, GIA Agents; Mini-Woman Division?
EPIPHANY ASSIGNMENT #5: ANGEL MESSAGES
READ: Matthew 2: 19-23 It's so easy for Joseph to know what God wants him to do with his little family! When Herod (finally!) dies, an angel comes to him in a dream and tells him to take them back to Israel (remember they're in Egypt) because it's safe now. Then just as he brings them over the border, he has another dream where the angel tells him that Herod's son is now the king and he's even worse than his dad. Joseph has the information he needs to go to a town called Nazareth and settle them there, out of the reach of Archelaus (the new king; who names their kid Archelaus anyway?)
CONNECT: I don't know about you, but I'm wishing God would send ME angels in dreams so I'd know exactly what to do! Seriously, don't you? How many times have you heard, "Obey God," and thought, "I would if I knew what he wanted me to do!" Send me a dream angel, already!
PRAY: Get quiet and think about something that's going on in your life right now that you wish God would give you some direct instructions on. Try to think of a situation that involves someone else. You're having issues with a friend, or someone is giving you a bad time, or your parents won't let you do something you really want to do. Reach into your GIA Agent Toolkit and pull out your drawing pad and art supplies. Write the question in the middle using colors and "embellishments". Then pray for God to show you what to do. Don't expect to doze off and have an immediatel answer brought to you in a dream! Just sit with that for a while and then go on to the next step.
TAKE ACTION: Now go about your daily business but watch for angels. I'm serious. Paul tells us to treat everybody with respect and love because we never know when we're entertaining angels without knowing it. You're not looking for actual angels (wings, halos, that whole thing). You're actually looking for God-messengers. People who have the answers you're looking for. Here are some angels to watch for:
* wise adults
* older kids you look up to who have been through the same thing
* song lyrics
* books you read (including the Bible, but angels show up in fiction too)
* random comments (you never know whose mouth your answers are going to come out of)
* even movies and TV shows
SHARE: Here's what I want you to do so we really get some clear feedback. That way we'll all get the hang of this watching for messengers thing.
* Tell us the question you've written in the middle of your drawing pad. It's okay if that's all you post for now. You can always come back later as you find out more.
* Tell us in a later comment what messengers you saw or heard.
* In an even later comment, share with us how you took action with that information and obeyed God.
Of course, you can always ask for prayer. If you have other things you want to talk about, you can join our Google Group where you get to decide the topics.
All right, Agents -- the Angel Watch is on!
Blessings,
Nancy Rue

I don't have time to do the assignment but i CAN read the bible verse! Thanks Mrs.Rue!!! My mom is (at least) trying to e-mail you for BOTH of the books! I'll try to post later!

Ooh, love that - Angel Watch! My big question that I want to know how to handle is with some kids at school. We're in this group for presentations and we're writing a skit. These two boys are doing, like, NONE of the work and even distracting the rest of us. Plus, they're being somewhat inappropriate and using God's name wrongly... so trying to figure out what to do 'bout that. Prayers would be appreciated! :)
And, just have to say, I'm reading Mrs. Rue's "Dear Nancy" book and it's really good! :)

Dear Nancy is a good book. My sis has it, but she is 16 now, so I read it sometimes. It has answered SO many questions!Um...Well, as you all know, I have had friend trouble going on for a while. That girl is no longer my friend. My question would be , simply, why? Why did it happen? why why WHY!!! I hope it shows up. Probably not on the biggest loser,(they lose weight), but who knows!

Lately I've been a bit ticked off with some of my friends... and my friends aren't doing anything wrong, just being themselves. I'm really sad that I'm annoyed at them, so my question is: How can I like/see the good points in them? (not sure if the phrasing's quite right) I want to enjoy them again and not to focus on the things they did that made me annoyed.

Hey, girls. I am praying and loving and praising.
Praises: I'm in a good mood today, so I should be able to get a lotta work done before Thursday, where a buncha stuff is due.
Also, I'm getting a bit un-intolerant to gluten, which is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye.
Prayers: Pease pray for us. I am not allowed to say what it is but I will say praise that we found out what it was.
I'm gonna be looking out for that angel!
My problem is controlling my temper when I get fidgety. Gtg

Hi, Everybody- I'm back. Sorry I haven't been around in like, FOREVER- but I've been SUPER busy this time of year, what with school, homework, chores, church, family, and friends- but it feels good to sit back and look at the AMAZING stuff Mrs. Rue has to say.
I decided that my question is more like a statement- I don't quite know how to convert it into a question. It is: "I Don't Want To Do What My Parents Want Me To Do!" For example, not texting in class (cuz I can get away with it sooooooo easily) listening to music with not-so-good content, using not-so-nice language, having an A in every class, that kind of thing.
Somewhere inside me, I can almost FEEL an angel telling me: "Cassi, you already know what to do. You just have a hard time doing it." I know it's true... I know I should do what my parents want me to do, but I don't want to. It's driving me bonkers! I'll definately be on my angel watch!
What's the google group?
Praying for all of my sisters in Christ... That's you guys! (and more!) xo

Hey, guys! or..girls. Could you pray for my friend? Her dog might have cancer, and it is really sad to watch. She is really shaken about it, so yeah
Posted by: AnnaRachael | January 29, 2013 at 08:31 PM
My question was: What I should do about my friendship with another girl? We were friends last year and I am not sure what happened. Could you guys pray that I have a good week at school because there are some kids that make some bad choices. They are in my health class, and they are really distracting.
P.S. this is the first time I have posted, but I have followed Mrs.Rue's blog for a while.

Hey Girls!
Great things up there!
Well, my question comes from this situation:
I have friends at church, and I go over to their house every-once-in-a-while. We'll be having fun, laughing, and then all of a sudden, one girl thinks I'm being mean to her when I'm not. She says mean things, and it hurts. How can I be nice to her?
Please pray.
And also pray for me in school-- I have to do a research report and there's alot of research to be done.
thanks,
Jenna
P.S. Welcome Petra even though you've followed the blog for a while :)
