You read the blog. You take the suggestions. You write in your journal to God (and OLIVIA, KEILAH and NIMI, thank you for explaining the TTGJ to TESSA -- and NIMI, we're so glad you found yours and HALLE BELLE we hope yours is returned to you soon) You really want to be close to God and live your lives the way God has planned for you. If you keep doing all that, you WILL make this world the place God wants it to be. (THIS IS JORDYN'S AWESOME JOURNAL)
I mean, look at the response to our post on C is For Confessing. All these people have committed to talking to God about the areas in their lives where they feel like they keep messing up:
MEGGIE BEAR HALLE BELLE OLIVIA KEILAH NIMI KAYLEE ANA
And I'm sure there are more of you who are doing it but haven't commented, which is fine -- but if you want to you still can.
The thing about confessing is that after you admit to God that you have muffed something up yet AGAIN, you find yourself wanting to make it right. Once you've unloaded the guilt, you don't have to make up excuses in your head, like --
"Maybe I did say that mean thing, but she had it coming. She says stuff like that to me all the time!"
"If he would be nicer to me, I'd be nicer to him. It works both ways."
"I can't help it if I blow up over stuff. I'm just like my dad."
The minute you write, "God, I'm really sorry I did that," you can't really go back to making excuses for it.
Here's a really small example. Although OLIVIA probably didn't confess this to God, she went through the same process:
* OLIVIA revealed her age in a comment
* NIMI commented that she was pretty sure it was in the rules that it's not okay to tell how old you are
*OLIVIA admitted that she hadn't read the rules
* She went back and read them -- and then posted a comment in which she apologized and reported that to be safe, ages shouldn't be included in comments.
Issue resolved. Nobody got their feelings hurt. Everybody learned.
Do you know how MATURE that is? A lot of adults wouldn't have handled that as well - and you did it all before I even knew it was happening! Yeah, I'm pretty proud.
So -- up to this point in our alphabet series, we know that A is for AUTHENTIC, B is for BEAUTIFUL, C is for CONFESSING. All things that describe a Mini-Women who's getting closer to God.
Now -- what do you think the letter D stands for? If you want to comment between now and Friday, June 19, give us up to 5 suggestions for close-to-God words that start with D.
Can't wait to see what you come up with THIS time!
