We have HALLE BELLE dressing the way she likes to. SARA going to a quiet spot and talking to God and feeling the forgiveness she needed to offer to herself. ASHER finding her one-liner, which she hasn't had to use yet because when she got up the courage to answer a lot of questions in small group, "nobody dubbed me a know-it-all or anything."
That same thing happened with HALLE BELLE: "nobody looked at me like I was an alien or rolled their eyes at me." I'm thinking a lot of the time what we build up in our minds about how people are going to react to our just being who we are is way worse than what actually happens. Not all the time -- and that's where the one-liner comes in -- but more than we realize.
Even if other people DO roll their eyes or call you a know-it-all, that doesn't have to erase the way you feel about being your authentic self.
HALLE BELLE felt great. SARA feels new. ASHER felt peaceful. Nobody can take that away from us.
You know, when you all first started stringing the alphabet together in one long "I love you ABCDEFG mini-women," I was amused. But now I think you're onto something. Being AUTHENTIC makes you BEAUTIFUL which makes you want to CONFESS so you can be more so, and then you are DELIGHTED which leads to you being EAGER to be FREE to be even more GENUINE.
It's like we're building an alphabet block tower inside ourselves!
As we add each new letter -- and give our attention to that next quality we need in order to realize how close God is -- we're putting together a relationship that needs ALL the blocks.
So ... what do you think H stands for?
* Remember that it's something we need to BE
If I'm going to see how close God is, I need to be h_____.
* The reason I ask you to post only one word is because even though all your suggestions work, I hope you'll really think about what one thing stands out for you. If brainstorming helps you come up with that perfect word, why not do that in your TTGJ (Talking to God Journal) and just post the one you choose?
* Remember that we're not having a contest to see who comes the closest to the one I pick! How would you even know that, right?
* If somebody just HAS to post more than one word, no worries. If I think it's getting out of hand I'll send a private email. That way you never feel like you have to police each other and nobody worries about making a mistake.
All right then -- on to the letter H -- and I promise you, it isn't "Heinous!"
