NIMI, SIERRA, HADASSAH, HALLE BELLE and JEMMA -- you totally got the passage from Isaiah. We're all separated from God at times, that's for sure (I mean, ya think?) And yet God loves us anyway AND asks who among us will answer the call to serve.
But doesn't it sometimes feel like even when you know what the Bible is saying, it doesn't include you? It's like walking around the church with a hat pulled over your face. You're there, but do you matter?
You do, of course. That's why our first Way to Love the Bible is to read the parts that relate to your life right now.
How do you find them? That's where I come in. Here's what I need from you:
* First, snuggle in with your Talking To God Journal and list for God all the things that are a struggle for you right now. Is it problems with your siblings? Not getting along with your mom the way you used to? Feeling left out? Wondering if God really does love you? Feeling like an idiot in math class? Nothing is lame, dumb or embarrassing -- not when you come before God. Think of this as praying -- because it is.
* Next, choose a couple of those and post them in your comment.
That will give me a list of topics so I can choose Bible stories and passages as we continue through our six-week series.
Sound like a plan? Please enter some topics, even you don't usually post. Speaking of which, welcome JEMMA -- and LEAH, we're glad you're back. This is a safe for everybody, all the time.
Can't wait for those comments!
